The experience
The tour starts with pickup at your Puerto Iguazu hotel and a drive to Iguazu National Park on the Argentine side. Your local guide travels with you and points out wildlife in the subtropical forest (toucans, parrots, coatis) as you arrive. The park's 275 waterfalls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spread across the landscape in ways that footbridges let you approach until water mists your face.
After entry, you'll ride an ecological train through the rainforest to reach the Devil's Throat viewing platform. This is the most powerful single waterfall of the complex, where millions of liters drop at different heights. If crowds are heavy at the train, your guide will route you through less crowded areas first, then circle back. The train itself is the access point. You can't reach this viewpoint on foot.
Next comes your choice of circuits. The lower circuit takes you into the forest itself, closer to the spray and sound, with the humidity and aromas of the jungle around you. The upper circuit sits elevated above the falls, offering panoramic views and a place to sit with the water sound in the background. Your guide decides which to visit first based on the day's conditions. You'll have free time for lunch at the park (not included), then return to your hotel after eight to ten hours out.
