The experience
Eight hours starts early with hotel pickup and a drive to the Argentinian side of Iguazu National Park. Once inside the park, you board a train from the Visitors Center: the real journey begins here, not on the road. The jungle surrounds you: the aromas, the colors, the freshness of a biome increasingly rare. The train takes you to the Garganta del Diablo station, where a 1,000-meter path leads to the biggest fall in the entire system. You follow the sound of the water.
After the Devil's Throat, the train carries you to the Cataratas Station for the Upper Path, an 800-meter walk past Tres Hermanas, Bosetti and other major falls. The catwalks put you face-to-face with the fauna: dragonflies, butterflies, beetles, coatis, monkeys, and a variety of birds. You have time for lunch at one of the park restaurants (not included in the tour price). Then comes the Low Path, a 1,600-meter trail that descends to the foot of the falls: an overwhelming experience at the base of the water. Your guide carries the knowledge of secrets, legends and anecdotes that make the visit complete. Once the group reassembles, you head back to your hotel.
You choose your group size at checkout: the group tour fits up to 40 passengers, while the small-group option caps at 20. Both include the train, all three walking circuits, hotel pickup from centrally located Puerto Iguazú hotels, and a professional guide who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or Portuguese. The tour suits all fitness levels, though the trails involve walking on uneven terrain and some elevation change. Weather can affect access to sections of the park. Check current conditions before booking, as the Devil's Throat circuit may be closed for maintenance or weather-related safety measures.
