The experience

Your guide picks you up at your hotel in Puerto Iguazu and drives you to the Visitors Center at the park entrance, where you'll start at the Nature's Interpretation Center to learn the falls' history. From there, you can either take a brief walk along the Green Trail or board the park train to reach the Upper Circuit: a one-hour loop that climbs nearly 800 meters of catwalks winding above the forest canopy. You'll pass Dos Hermanas, Bosetti, Bernabe Mendez and M'Bigua falls, each viewpoint showing a different angle of the water system. After returning to the station, you have time for lunch at one of the park restaurants before moving to the next section.

The train then carries you to the Garganta Station for the Devil's Throat circuit, an 18-minute ride into deeper forest where you'll spot caiman, local birds, lizards and insects among the ferns, orchids and begonias. The 1,200-meter boardwalk leads you to the base of the largest fall, the Devil's Throat itself: the moment the tour builds toward. If you've chosen the boat option, you'll board a semi-rigid zodiac here that takes you directly under the waterfalls, giving you a completely different sense of their scale and force. The boat ride lasts about an hour, and afterward a Movie Truck drives you back through the jungle toward the exit.

The Lower Circuit comes next, with catwalks offering panoramic views of Dos Hermanas, Alvar Nunez, San Martin, Salto Bosetti and Bella Vista rock from the base of the falls. Once you've completed all three circuits, your guide returns you to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu. The entire day is arranged (transport, timing, entry and the guide's knowledge), so you move through the park without building the schedule yourself.
