Step-by-step itinerary

Jungle tour and boat under waterfalls

  • 4x4 truck jungle tour
  • Boat ride under waterfalls
  • Walk three waterfall circuits
  • Visit Macuco trail and Arrechea waterfall
  • Explore park via ecological train

The experience

The day splits into two distinct parts: the motorboat ride and the jungle exploration. The boat takes you meters from the main falls (close enough to feel the spray and the force of the water), then the 4x4 truck carries you into the surrounding jungle where a guide points out the flora, fauna and the stories of the place. After the motorboat and truck sections end, you move through the park on your own or with the ecological train, which is included with your entry ticket.

Three walking routes open up once you're inside the park: the upper circuit, the lower circuit and the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), all with easy access and train transfers between them. If you want to go deeper, the 3-kilometer Macuco trail is self-guided and pedestrian, winding into the jungle where you can encounter Caí monkeys and a 23-meter waterfall called Arrechea. The guide stays with you during the motorboat ride and the 4x4 section only. After that, the park is yours to explore at your own pace.

The motorboat ride can be suspended if weather turns bad. The tour runs 12 hours total and includes an air-conditioned vehicle for the jungle drive and transfers. Lunch is not included, so plan to eat at the park's facilities. Hotel pickup is part of the booking.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

How close does the motorboat actually get to the waterfalls?

The motorboat approaches meters from the main falls, close enough to be sprayed by the water and feel the force of the cascades. This is the centerpiece of the boat ride.

Can I explore the park on my own after the motorboat and jungle sections?

Yes. Once the guided motorboat and 4x4 portions end, you move through the three main park circuits at your own pace, with the ecological train included to move between them. The Macuco trail is also self-guided if you want a longer jungle walk.

Lunch is not included. The park has facilities where you can eat during the day, and you'll have time to do so between the motorboat section and the park exploration.

What is the Macuco trail and who can do it?

The Macuco trail is a 3-kilometer self-guided walk through the jungle that takes you into the territory of Caí monkeys and past the Arrechea waterfall. It is pedestrian access with easy footing, and you can choose to walk it during your time in the park after the guided sections end.
