Your guide picks you up at your hotel in Puerto Iguazu and drives you to Iguazú National Park. Once there, you walk the park's scenic circuits on your own pace, stopping at viewpoints like Devil's Throat to watch the water plunge into the gorge below. Your guide explains what you're seeing (the geology, the wildlife, the way the mist rises), and points out details most visitors miss. Meals are available for purchase at the park's restaurant if you want to eat during the day.

If you've booked the boat option, you'll trade the walkways for the Iguazu River itself. The Great Adventure Navigation takes you out on the water in an exhilarating ride where you feel the power of the falls up close. This is the add-on that changes the day entirely, instead of viewing from above, you're moving through the rapids below the cascades. Note that this boat ride has strict safety requirements: children under 12, pregnant women, and people with certain medical conditions cannot participate, and park guides may deny entry at their discretion for safety reasons.

The tour lasts about seven hours total, including the drive, the park time, and the return to your hotel. You'll need your passport. Weather can affect access to some circuits.
