Iguazu Falls tour: Walk falls & boat rapids jungle adventure
Three ways to stand in front of the falls: from above, from below, and from a boat racing toward them
A full-day tour of Iguazu Falls on the Argentine side with a choice of two routes: walk the upper and lower circuits on metal boardwalks around the Devil's Throat and the falls themselves, or add a 4x4 jungle drive and a rubber-boat run down the Iguazú River that approaches Salto San Martín. A bilingual guide leads both options, and the tour includes hotel pickup, an air-conditioned vehicle, and waterproof bags for your gear. The boat portion is not suitable for pregnant travelers, those with spinal injuries, or children under 12, who must bring passports.

The experience
The Argentine side of Iguazu Falls lets you walk directly over and under the water in ways the Brazilian side does not. You start at the Devil's Throat, taking a train to the station and then walking metal walkways out to a panoramic point where the scale of the falls hits you all at once. From there, the tour splits: the upper circuit is a 1,750-meter walk with six viewpoints that give you the whole panorama and the delta of the Iguazú River. The lower circuit drops you into the heart of the falls on an 1,800-meter path with eight viewpoints where you feel the humidity, the spray, and the jungle closing in. Both circuits are walks at your own pace on solid ground.
If you book the Waterfalls + Grand Adventure option, the day continues into the jungle. A 4x4 takes you deep into the national park along the Yacaratiá and Puerto Macuco trails, then down a 100-meter staircase to a floating dock on the Iguazú River. You board a semi-rigid rubber boat in a life jacket and ride downriver toward the falls themselves. The boat climbs over rapids and approaches Salto San Martín, the second-largest waterfall, close enough that the mist soaks you and rainbows form in the spray. This is the part that earns the "baptism" nickname in the tour name. It is wet, it is loud, and it is the moment the adrenaline peaks.
The whole day runs 10 to 11 hours from hotel pickup to return. You get a bilingual guide in Spanish and English, an air-conditioned vehicle, and waterproof bags to protect your phone and camera. Bring a raincoat or poncho if you want to stay dry on the lower circuit or the boat. Sunscreen, a hat, and water are essentials. If you are staying in Foz do Iguazu on the Brazilian side, transport costs an extra USD 20.

Is this one for you?Choose Argentine Falls Only if you want a full day walking the falls on solid boardwalks without getting soaked. Pick Waterfalls + Grand Adventure if the boat ride down the river toward Salto San Martín and the jungle 4x4 drive are what drew you to Iguazu in the first place.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 3): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
What is the Devil's Throat and why does the tour start there?
The Devil's Throat is the largest single waterfall at Iguazu Falls, where the Iguazú River narrows and drops with immense force. The tour begins there because it is one of the most popular viewpoints in the park, reachable by train, and it gives you the scale of the whole system before you walk the individual circuits.
Can I do just the falls walk without the boat and jungle part?
Yes. The Argentine Falls Only option includes the Devil's Throat, the upper circuit, and the lower circuit, all the boardwalk walks, without the 4x4 or the rubber boat. Choose this if you want a full day of the falls but prefer to stay dry and on solid ground.
How wet do you get on the boat part of the tour?
The boat ride down the Iguazú River toward Salto San Martín ends with a "baptism of fresh mist" as you approach the waterfall, so you will get wet. The operator recommends full-body rain coverage with snug-fitting cuffs, and waterproof bags are provided for your belongings. Bring a waterproof case for your phone or camera if you want to take pictures.
Are there age limits for this tour?
Children under 12 cannot participate in the Grand Adventure (the boat and jungle part) and must bring their passports. Infants can join the falls-only option if they sit on an adult's lap. The boat portion is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.
What is included in the price?
The tour includes hotel pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle, a bilingual guide in Spanish and English, waterproof bags for your gear, and entry to the national park. Food and drink are not included, and if you want professional photos or filming, that is separate. If you are picked up from Foz do Iguazu in Brazil, add USD 20 for transport.
