The experience

The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Foz do Iguacu and transport to the Argentine side of Iguazu National Park. Once at the Visitors' Center, you board a 10-minute train ride toward the Devil's Throat, the largest water flow in the entire complex. A 1 km walkway takes you directly above the river, where you stand before the falls drop at full force. The vantage point is built into the rock itself, so the scale hits you before the sound does.

After the Devil's Throat, the train carries you to the upper circuit, where you walk among more than 200 distinct waterfalls spread across the park. The named falls (Dos Hermanas, Chico, Ramirez, Bosseti and others) each have their own character and flow. A long forest walk connects these viewpoints, moving through the vegetation and fauna until you reach the lower circuit. From there, you look up at a canyon carved by the falls themselves, standing 1,400 meters below the rim. The guide provides live commentary throughout in your choice of English, Spanish or Portuguese, explaining what you're seeing as the day unfolds.

The tour runs about eight hours total. Lunch happens at one of several restaurant options the guide suggests. You choose where to eat and what to order. The air-conditioned vehicle handles the transport between your hotel and the park, and park entry is included in the price. Infants sit on an adult's lap during the ride.
