The experience

The day starts with horseback riding along the river into the tropical rainforest, heading toward the village of Las Palmas deep in the Sierra Madre. After the ride, you gear up for an ATV expedition across jungle terrain, crossing rivers and muddy trails to reach a waterfall where you can swim in the natural pools. The physical setup matters here: you're operating each piece of equipment yourself, not watching from a vehicle or a platform.

The zipline circuit is seven lines strung between the trees and over rivers, letting you see the jungle from above. A hanging bridge crossing comes before the swim, and the waterfall pools vary with the season: fuller in the rainy months, shallower in the dry. The route can shift based on conditions, so the exact sequence may change depending on when you go.

Lunch happens at the ranch and includes fresh fajitas, grilled chicken, handmade tortillas, beans, rice, guacamole and salsa, and you make the guacamole yourself. Drinks are included. Air-conditioned transport picks you up from one of two meeting points in Puerto Vallarta and brings you back at the end of the 6.5 hours. The guide speaks English or Spanish and stays with the group throughout.
