The experience

How do you get from one mountain to the next without a trail? You zip across it. This activity strings eleven lines over a river canyon, each one launching you from a platform toward the next. The last line ends with a water landing. You plunge into the river at the base. A guide stays with the group throughout, checking harnesses and pacing the circuit so everyone moves at the same speed through the course.

After the zip lines, you walk the Jorullo suspension bridge. At 470 meters long and 150 meters above the ground, it is the longest vehicular suspension bridge in the world, and the walk across it gives a 360-degree view of the forest and the valley below. The return trip down the mountain happens on a mule, a fifteen-minute ride that lets you see the flora close up instead of flying past it. The mule does the work. You sit and look around.

The day wraps with a tequila tasting and Mexican food prepared to order at the park. Private transportation picks you up from your hotel in one of four downtown zones and brings you back when the activity ends. Bring mosquito repellent, wear light clothing and closed shoes, and leave cameras behind: the operator discourages them for safety reasons. The whole outing, including travel time and park time, takes about five hours.

Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in English, Spanish and French.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 10 years). Under 6: they can't be included in the booking.

What exactly happens on the eleven zip lines?

You launch from a platform, fly across the canyon over the river on a harness and cable, and land on the next platform. The sequence repeats eleven times, with the final line ending in a water landing where you plunge into the river below. A guide checks your gear before each run and stays with the group.

Is the suspension bridge walk safe for people who are afraid of heights?

The Jorullo bridge is 470 meters long and 150 meters high with a 360-degree view, so there is no hiding from the drop. The bridge is built for vehicular traffic and is structurally sound, but if heights trigger panic, this crossing will test that. The walk is part of the activity and cannot be skipped.

What does the mule ride back down involve?

The mule carries you for about fifteen minutes down the mountain trail back to the park. You sit in a saddle while the animal navigates the path, giving you time to see the forest plants and canopy up close. No riding experience is needed. The mule knows the route.

Which pickup location is closest to where I'm staying?

Pickup happens from four downtown Puerto Vallarta zones: Downtown, Romantic Area; Playa de Oro; Plaza Las Glorias; or New York. Choose the one nearest your hotel when you book. Private transportation is included and brings you back to the same spot when the activity ends.
