The experience

The boat leaves the pier and runs high-speed into the Sierra Madre foothills, then you switch to a Unimog 4x4 truck for an off-road climb through the mountains. A muleback ride takes you higher to the summit, where the ziplines start. You soar over canyons on multiple runs, each one building on the last. The terrain is rocky and you will get wet. Fruit, Mexican salsa and purified water are provided at the basecamp. Quesadillas and drinks are available to purchase.

The waterfall rappel comes next: you descend a cascade into a crystal-clear river pool. After that, the Roller Coaster Zipline delivers the twists and turns the name promises. The day ends with Mexico's highest waterslide drop: a record-breaking plunge that closes out the circuit. Safety gear, towels and lockers at the basecamp are included. Wear shorts and hiking or tennis shoes. Bring a change of dry clothes, suntan lotion, mosquito repellent and a sweatshirt. The whole thing runs 6.5 hours from start to finish.

This experience has been featured on National Geographic and the Travel Channel, and it won the Travelers' Choice 'Best of the Best' five years running. The activity is not suitable for cruise ship passengers because of time conflicts with local schedules. Cameras are not allowed during the circuit for safety reasons, but photo services are available on site if you want images from the day.
