The Experience

"You're going to feel safe the whole time — that's what we promise," our guide said at the office in Zona Romantica before we even left the parking lot. It's the kind of thing you hear a lot in adventure tourism, but standing at the top of the first platform forty minutes later, looking down at the Sierra Madre Mountains stretching out below, you realize they meant it. The guides here have built their reputation on that promise, and it shows in how they check your harness, how they explain each line before you step off, how they move through the canopy like they've done this a thousand times and will do it a thousand more.

The zip-line tour itself runs eight lines down through the jungle canopy — each one higher, faster, and longer than the last — and the longest suspension bridge on the continent sits somewhere in the middle of it all. You're not just dropping through trees; you're walking across a bridge that feels like it shouldn't hold, but does, with nothing but air and view on both sides. The whole thing takes about five hours from pickup to drop-off, which includes the drive out to the facilities, the gear-up, the actual lines, and then a tequila tasting back at the park before heading back to town. The bilingual guides keep things moving without rushing, and there are water stations scattered through the course because you're hiking between platforms and the Jalisco heat is real.

After you're done with the zip lines, the tequila tasting is included — optional if you want to skip it, but most people don't. If you're hungry, there's a restaurant right there on the grounds, though that's separate from what you've already paid. Same with the infinity pool overlooking the mountains, which is there if you want to cool off before the drive back. Round transportation picks you up from your hotel or wherever you arrange in Zona Romantica and brings you back the same way, so you don't have to think about logistics.

What’s included

Round-trip transportation from your pickup point in Zona Romantica to the park facilities, all safety equipment and harnesses, eight zip lines through the canopy, the suspension bridge walk, bilingual guides throughout the activity, water stations during the course, and a tequila tasting at the end. Food at the on-site restaurant and access to the infinity pool are available separately and not included in the price.

Top questions

What's included in the price?

Round transportation from Zona Romantica, all eight zip lines, safety equipment, the suspension bridge walk, bilingual guides, water during the activity, and a tequila tasting. Food and the pool are separate.

How long does the whole thing take?

Five hours from pickup to drop-off, including the drive to the park, gear-up, the eight zip lines, and the tequila tasting.

Do I need to be in great shape?

You need at least moderate fitness because there's hiking between platforms and the terrain is jungle. Wear sports shoes. The guides will tell you what to expect before you start.

What's the weight limit?

Maximum 240 pounds per person.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes, minimum age is 6 years old. There's no upper age limit if you're in good physical condition, though the operator does not recommend it for adults over 65 unless they have very good fitness.

Can I do this if I'm afraid of heights?

The guides are trained to help nervous people, and the safety systems are solid, but if you have vertigo or severe fear of heights, this probably isn't the right activity.

Is the suspension bridge scary?

It's the longest on the continent, so yes, it's designed to feel dramatic. But it's built to hold, and the guides walk it with you.

What if I don't want the tequila tasting?

It's included but optional, so you can skip it if you prefer.
