The experience

What does the actual drive feel like? You start at the base with a guide who walks you through the vehicle controls and the route rules, then head out through Puerto Vallarta's typical streets and toward the Cue River area before the terrain opens into the mountains. The paths themselves carry climbs, descents, curves, puddles and stream crossings: the kind of obstacles that make the ride feel real instead of tame. A brief stop at a mountain viewpoint gives you a moment to see the landscape spread out and take photos before the drive continues.

After the riding portion, you arrive at Rancho mi Abuelo, a riverside property where you can eat Mexican food, drink refreshments and wash off in the river pools. From there the group heads to Tequilera Vallejo, a working distillery where you learn about the regional tequila types during a tasting. The guides stay with you throughout and bring everyone back to the base once the day winds down.

You can choose between an RZR (a side-by-side vehicle that seats multiple passengers or, on the 2-passenger option, requires an adult driver with a valid license) or an ATV quad bike in single or double configuration. Drivers must be at least 18 for the RZR. Younger riders aged 16 can drive an ATV only with an adult license and without passengers. Children as young as 4 can ride as passengers on an RZR, or 6 on an ATV. Arrive 30 minutes early for check-in. The tour departs on schedule, and late arrivals may forfeit the booking.
