ATV Riding Puerto Vallarta: Private El Eden Adventure
Operate your own ATV through jungle and coastal views, then swim in El Eden's river and waterfalls.

The tour runs 4 hours with a private guide in English or Spanish; you'll pass the Malecón and Los Arcos on the way out, and can add zip lines or tequila tasting at checkout. Minimum age is 16 with a valid driver's license; passengers can be as young as 6.
Step-by-step itinerary
ATV adventure from Puerto Vallarta
- Admire Puerto Vallarta Malecon
- Stop at Los Arcos viewer
- Explore El Eden jungle and swim
- Visit fishing village for lunch
The Experience
You operate the ATV yourself on this private ride, not as a passenger. The route starts in Puerto Vallarta's downtown, passes the Malecón and the Los Arcos National Marine Park viewpoint (optional stop), then heads into the Sierra Madre toward El Eden. That's the jungle location used as a film set for the 1987 movie Predator — a river with waterfalls, hammocks, and trails that climb deeper into the mountains. The whole outing runs 4 hours, and because it's private, you decide how long to linger at each spot or whether to stop at all.
At El Eden you can jump into the river to cool off, explore the trails on foot, or hang in a hammock. There's a small fishing village nearby where locals sell fresh catch if you want to eat (not included in the ride price). Zip lines are available to add to the experience at checkout. The guide handles navigation and knows which trails suit intermediate riders; you handle throttle and braking. Goggles, helmet, and face masks come with the ATV. Fuel is included. Bring a swimsuit if you plan to get in the water, bug spray for the jungle, and comfortable walking shoes for the stops.
A minimum of two ATVs books per reservation — you can ride solo or double up with a passenger (minimum age 6 for passengers). The guide speaks English or Spanish. This is built for intermediate-level riders who've handled an ATV before; it's not a beginner course. Cruise ship passengers need to provide ship name, docking time, and re-boarding time at booking so the guide can time your return.
What’s included
- Private guide in English or Spanish.
- ATV, helmet, goggles and face masks.
- fuel surcharge.
- optional stops at the Malecón and Los Arcos viewpoint.

Is this one for you?Book this if you're an intermediate ATV rider who wants to control your own pace and stops — the private format means you spend as long as you want at El Eden's river and trails, or skip the village stop entirely and ride deeper into the mountains instead. Single or double riders work equally well; just bring your valid driver's license and a swimsuit.

What is El Eden and why is it on this ride?
El Eden is a jungle location in the Sierra Madre mountains that was used as a film set for the 1987 movie Predator. It sits along a river with waterfalls and natural pools where you can swim, plus trails to explore on foot or by ATV, and hammocks to rest in between riding.
Do I need ATV experience to book this ride?
Yes — this adventure is for intermediate-level riders only. You need to be comfortable operating an ATV yourself, and you must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license to ride. Passengers can be younger (minimum age 6) but do not operate the vehicle.
Can I customize what we do on the 4 hours?
Yes. Because it's a private tour, you decide how long to spend at each stop — the Malecón, Los Arcos viewpoint, El Eden, or the fishing village. You can skip optional stops, stay longer at one place, or add zip lines and tequila tasting at checkout to change the itinerary.
What's included in the ATV ride price?
The ride includes the ATV, helmet, goggles, face masks, fuel, and a private guide in English or Spanish. Food, drinks, zip lines, and photos are not included. If you visit the fishing village, meals are available for separate cost.
Will the tour run if the weather is bad?
Yes — the tour operates in all weather conditions. Dress appropriately for rain or sun, and bring bug spray. The jungle terrain and river are part of the experience regardless of weather.
How do I get to the ATV shop to start the ride?
The tour departs from the shop in Puerto Vallarta. Hotel pickup is not included, but you can take an Uber to the shop as an alternative to arranging your own transport.
