Horseback Riding in Mismaloya: Mountain Streams & El Eden
Climb into the Mismaloya Mountains on horseback and end the afternoon in mountain water
A horseback riding tour in Mismaloya takes you from the beach up through the mountains on well-trained horses, crossing fresh streams and passing through forest to reach El Eden, a mountain spot where you can swim, rest and take in the views. A certified guide leads the ride in English or Spanish, and children from age 5 are welcome. Food and activities at El Eden cost extra.
Step-by-step itinerary
Horseback tour through Mismaloya Mountains
- Ride horses from Mismaloya Beach
- Travel through mountain streams and views
- Relax at El Eden
- Swim, drink, or zip line at El Eden
The Experience
The ride starts at Mismaloya Beach and climbs into the foothills, following trails that cross mountain streams and wind through the landscape. Your horse is trained and gentle, built for this terrain and for riders new to the saddle. The guide stays with the group throughout, speaking English or Spanish depending on your preference.
Once you reach El Eden, the pace changes. You have time to swim in the mountain water, sit with a drink and take in the views, or try zip-lining if that appeals to you—those activities and food are separate charges, so you decide what to add on. The whole ride takes three hours from start to finish.
