The experience
The boat departs Paros and crosses to Delos, the holy island where ancient Greeks believed Apollo and Artemis were born. The ruins spread across the island (temples, theaters, mosaics) are among the Mediterranean's most intact archaeological sites. A professional guide can walk you through the history on request. Otherwise you explore at your own pace. The visit is unhurried enough to sit with the scale of what you're standing in.
From Delos the boat moves to Rhenia, a neighboring island with no permanent settlement and a string of beaches that see few visitors. Skinos beach, called Blue Lacuna for its water color, is the first stop. You swim, snorkel in the shallows, and dry off on golden sand. The captain then takes you to other Rhenia beaches (Lygia, Glyfada, Strada, Lia, Ambelia) depending on the wind and your mood, giving you time to move between them or stay put. Snacks and drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks, fresh fruit) are available throughout the day.
On the return to Paros, the boat passes through Little Venice, the harborside neighborhood where the streets narrow to stone alleys and the light flattens across the water at the end of the day. You can step ashore to walk around before the boat heads back, or stay aboard. The tour runs eight hours total.

Is this one for you?Book this private cruise if you want the boat and the day to yourselves: no shared seating, no strangers' schedules. The combination of ancient ruins and empty beaches in one trip works because the boat moves between them. You're not choosing one or the other.

What is the Delos archaeological site like, and how much time do you spend there?
