You’ll sail from Mykonos past ancient ruins on Delos—with time to wander or just relax onboard—before anchoring at Rhenia for swimming in clear water and a fresh BBQ lunch right on deck. With local guides, hotel pickup, drinks flowing, and plenty of space to stretch out under the sun, it’s a day that lingers long after you’re back on shore.
“You’ll never pronounce ‘Rhenia’ right,” our skipper teased as we climbed aboard in Mykonos. I was still fumbling with my flip-flops and sunscreen, but the crew just laughed and handed out iced coffees before we even left the dock. The Aegean was that weird shade of blue that doesn’t look real in photos. I tried steering for a minute—honestly, it’s harder than it looks—then gave up and let the wind do its thing while we drifted toward Delos.
Delos is… well, I didn’t expect to feel much about old stones, but walking among those ancient lions and mosaics, you can almost hear voices echoing off the marble. Our guide (Maria? I think?) pointed out where Apollo was supposedly born—she said it so casually, like she’d grown up next door. Some folks stayed on the catamaran instead (the WiFi actually works), but I couldn’t skip wandering through history like that. The sun was already hot by 11am; bring extra water if you’re like me and forget to pace yourself.
We met back at the boat—someone had found a tiny shell shaped like a heart—and set off for Rhenia. The water there is clearer than any pool I’ve seen; you can count your toes even when you’re floating way out. There’s this salty smell mixed with charcoal from the BBQ drifting over—the crew grilled souvlaki and veggies right on deck while we swam or just sat dangling our feet off the side. Greek wine tastes better when your hair’s still wet from the sea, I swear. At some point, someone played old pop songs on their phone and nobody minded.
By the time we sailed back toward Mykonos, everyone was sunburnt and a little sleepy. I kept thinking about those lion statues on Delos—how long they’ve watched people come and go here. Not sure why that stuck with me, but it did.
Your day includes roundtrip hotel pickup in Mykonos, all fuel and port fees covered, use of snorkeling gear and water toys (plus towels), unlimited bottled water and soft drinks as well as coffee or tea served onboard. There’s also beer and wine during lunch—a freshly grilled BBQ meal with Greek flavors—plus seasonal fruit after swimming at Rhenia Island before heading back in comfort at sunset.
