The experience

The boat leaves from Paros and heads south past Trypiti, a roofless cave carved into the cliffs where you can photograph the natural opening before moving on. From there the route takes you to the Blue Lagoon, where the water is shallow and clear enough to see the seabed. Most travelers swim and snorkel here, and wine and local cheese with tomatoes and breadsticks come out on board. The captain knows the southwest coastline and stops at the Blue Caves of Antiparos, a series of water-carved openings in the rock that only appear from the sea.

Antiparos town itself gets a walking stop if you want to explore the narrow streets, or you can stay in the water. The final stop is Faneromeni cove, part of a national park, where the shore is lined with white volcanic rocks shaped into tafoni formations. Snorkelling gear and paddle boards are available throughout the day if you want them. If conditions allow, the captain may adjust the route for safety. Strong winds can shift where the boat picks up and drops off.

Two departure times let you choose the rhythm: morning tours catch the full day on the water, while afternoon departures end with the sunset. Either way, the four hours move between swimming stops and cave viewing, with the captain handling navigation and the boat stocked with refreshments.
