The experience

The cruise departs from Ornos in Mykonos and heads to Delos, the small island where ancient Greeks believed Apollo and Artemis were born. You'll see the archaeological monuments from the water and have the option to arrange a guided tour of the site with a professional guide if you want the full history. The boat then moves to nearby Rhenia, where the Athenians once sent the sick and dying when they cleared Delos as a sacred space. Today it's a swimming destination: Skinos beach, called Blue Lagoon, has the clear water the itinerary promises, and you'll have time to swim, sunbathe and walk the coast.

The final stretch runs along Mykonos's southern coastline, passing Psarou, Kalo Livadi, Paraga, Super Paradise and Elia. These beaches are the ones that built Mykonos's reputation. They have restaurants, clubs and beach bars with sea-entry access by private dock, so you can pull up and order Greek food or cocktails if you want. Or you stay on the boat with the drinks and snacks the captain provides. The southern beaches are only reachable by water, which is why the private boat matters: you're not fighting the crowds at the main town beaches.

An English-speaking captain runs the boat for the full eight hours. Snorkeling equipment, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks, fresh fruit, bottled water and snacks are all included. Fuel surcharge is built into the price. Infants must sit on an adult's lap. The cruise is not recommended for pregnant travelers or children under three.
