The experience
You're picked up at Alexandria Port and driven to Giza in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The Giza Pyramids sit on a plateau just outside Cairo, and your Egyptologist guide walks you through the complex of nine pyramids, starting with the Great Pyramid of Khufu: the only surviving wonder of the ancient seven wonders, standing for over 3,800 years. The guide explains the valley temple, the causeway, and the construction methods that still puzzle archaeologists. You'll see the Pyramid of Khafre, the second-highest structure on the plateau, where the valley temple and causeway remain largely intact. The Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three main pyramids, still bears its original granite outer layer on the lower section: stone quarried from Aswan, over 1,000 kilometers away.
A panoramic viewpoint gives you 30 minutes to photograph all three pyramids together and the Giza cityscape. This is where camel rides are available if you want them. You'll also have a photo session at the Great Sphinx, the limestone monument carved from a single ridge. Shopping time at the pyramids area is built into the day, and lunch is at an Egyptian restaurant. If you choose the all-inclusive option, entry to the Grand Egyptian Museum (the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization), is included. The museum houses Tutankhamun's complete collection displayed together for the first time, plus over 100,000 other artifacts, many newly restored and never before shown.
Interior access to any of the pyramids requires a separate ticket beyond the tour price. Your guide will help you arrange one if you want to go inside. The entire experience is paced for a small group or family traveling together, with time to ask questions and linger at stops that interest you most. Round-trip transport from the port, bottled water, and the Egyptologist's commentary are all included.

Is this one for you?Book this if you're traveling as a couple, family or small group and want to move at your own pace without a large tour bus. The private vehicle and guide let you spend extra time at whichever pyramid or viewpoint holds your attention, and the Egyptologist can answer detailed questions as you go. If you want to see both the pyramids and the museum's Tutankhamun collection in one port day, choose the all-inclusive option. If you prefer more time at the monuments themselves, the day tour without the museum gives you that flexibility.

Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 10 years); Infant (under 6): free.
What's inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu that makes it worth the extra ticket?
The Great Pyramid's interior passages lead to the King's Chamber and the Queen's Chamber, where you can walk through the original limestone corridors and see the burial vault. Yes, camel rides are available at the panoramic viewpoint where you spend 30 minutes taking photos. They're optional and arranged on-site during your stop there.
Is the Grand Egyptian Museum included in every option, or do I choose it at checkout?
The Grand Egyptian Museum is included in the all-inclusive option only. The other option is the private day tour without museum entry. You pick which one suits your time and interests when you book.
How long is the drive from Alexandria Port to Giza, and when do we eat?
The entire tour runs 16 to 20 hours from pickup to drop-off. Lunch at an Egyptian restaurant is included partway through the day, giving you a break before or after the museum visit, depending on your option.
