The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and a drive to the Giza Plateau, where you explore the Great Pyramids (Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos) with your guide. The itinerary includes a stop at the famous photo viewpoint, and the camel area is available if you want it. From there you continue to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, learning the history of these monuments before moving on.

Next you head south to Sakkara, where the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the world's oldest stone pyramid, sits within a funerary complex of tombs and courtyards. Your guide explains how pyramid building evolved from this structure to the massive monuments at Giza. Then the drive continues to Memphis, Egypt's ancient capital, where the open-air museum holds the colossal Ramses II statue and the alabaster sphinx. Lunch follows at a local restaurant with an open buffet or set menu, and water is included.

The vehicle is modern and air-conditioned throughout. Children are welcome, and infant seats are available if you need one.
