The experience

The Gozzo is a wooden boat built for comfort, not cramped dinghy tours. You get a large sundeck to spread out on, drinks and towels already aboard, and snorkelling equipment ready to use. The boat holds everything you need for the day: fuel, an icebox, a hand shower, and on one model, a full bathroom. You're not waiting for a guide to herd you through stops or keeping pace with a group. You set the rhythm and linger where you want.

The 3-hour route takes you past five caves: the Green Grotto, White Cave, Coral Cave, Heart Cave, and Cave of the Saints. You'll also pass the Lighthouse and the Faraglioni, the dramatic rock formations that define Capri's coastline. Swimming stops are built into the tour, so you can jump in and snorkel without scrambling to find a beach. The caves sit just 5 minutes from the Faraglioni, close enough that you're not burning fuel to reach them.

Capri Blue Boats is the only operator in Capri renting Gozzos without a sailor included, which means lower cost and the freedom to explore at your own pace. If you prefer guidance, an English-speaking guide can join you. The boat is wheelchair accessible, and infants can travel in a pram or stroller.

Can I rent the Gozzo boat if I don't have a boating license?

Yes. The boat is available for self-guided rental without a license requirement, and you set your own pace through the caves and stops.

What's the difference between the Green Grotto and the White Cave?

The Green Grotto gets its color from light filtering through an underwater opening, while the White Cave reflects light off pale rock walls. Both are stops on the 3-hour route, along with the Coral Cave, Heart Cave, and Cave of the Saints.

Is snorkelling gear included, or do I need to bring my own?

Snorkelling equipment is included with the boat rental, ready to use at the swimming stops.

Do I need to pay extra to see the Faraglioni?

No. The Faraglioni rocks are part of the route and included in the tour. You pass them and can photograph them from the boat. The only separate cost is entry to the Blue Grotto if you choose to visit it (18 euros).
