The experience
What makes this different from a shared boat is the route itself: a private charter means the captain adjusts the day around the conditions and your pace instead of sticking to a fixed schedule. The boat holds up to six, so a family or small group travels together without strangers, and the snorkeling stops (at the Green Grotto where the water turns brilliant green, and around the smaller sea caves) happen when the water is calmest. Prosecco and limoncello are served on board. Snorkeling gear, fins and towels are all there waiting.
The six-hour day starts from Capri and moves slowly past the Faraglioni, three stacked rock peaks that rise out of the sea and frame the island's most photographed view. You stop at the Natural Arch, a rock formation carved by water over millennia, and pass Malaparte Villa, the white rationalist house perched on the cliffs. The White Grotto opens into a chamber of stalactites and stalagmites. The red coral cave glows with the color of the rock itself. Marina Piccola, a sheltered bay ringed with restaurant terraces, is a stop for lunch if you want it. The cost is separate, but eating there means no landing fee.
The Blue Grotto, Capri's most famous sea cave, is a separate ticket (18 euros per person) and not included in the tour price, though the boat passes it and can take you there if you choose. The Punta Carena lighthouse, Italy's second most powerful, marks the southern point of the route. The day ends back at Capri after four hours of actual exploring time on the water.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?

What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Green Grotto like when you snorkel there?
The Green Grotto gets its name from the water itself, which reflects light off the cave walls and turns a brilliant green. It's a designated snorkeling stop where you enter the water and swim around the cave opening. The equipment is provided.
Can we visit the Blue Grotto on this tour?
The boat passes the Blue Grotto and can take you inside, but entry is a separate ticket at 18 euros per person, not included in the tour price. Whether to add it is your choice at checkout.
How much time do we actually spend in the water snorkeling?
The tour is six hours total, with four hours spent exploring the island by boat and stops for snorkeling, sightseeing and photos. The Green Grotto is the main snorkeling stop. You also swim around Marciano and Mitigliano.
Is lunch included, or do we need to bring food?
Snacks and drinks (including Prosecco and limoncello) are served on board. Lunch is not included, but you can eat at one of the restaurants at Marina Piccola. If you dine there, the landing fee is waived.
What happens at the Faraglioni rocks?
The Faraglioni are three tall rock stacks off the southeast coast, famous for the view from the Gardens of Augustus on land. The boat passes them closely so you can photograph and see the formations from the water. There's a stop for photos and a bathroom break.
Do we need our own snorkeling gear, or is it provided?
Snorkeling equipment, fins and beach towels are all included and provided on board. You don't need to bring your own.
