Private Capri boat tour: Blue Grotto, caves and Faraglioni rocks
A 4-hour boat circles Capri's sea caves, limestone arches and the emperor's private pool.
A private boat tour of Capri takes you to five sea caves and coastal landmarks in one morning or afternoon, with a skipper who knows the island's routes and tides. You swim and snorkel in the Green Grotto, where the water turns emerald; stop at Marina Piccola's pebble beach; pass through the Faraglioni rock formations and the Natural Arch; and reach the Blue Grotto, where Roman emperors once swam. The tour includes snorkelling equipment, towels, refreshments and a shower onboard. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian.

The experience
The boat itself is built in the Capri style: comfortable and built for the island's waters. Your skipper knows the caves and the timing that lets you enter them safely. The White Grotto opens first, a chamber over 30 meters high where stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years catch the light and throw the sea's color onto the rock walls. From there the route moves along the coast to the Natural Arch, then to the Faraglioni (three rock formations that rise from the water), where you stop for photos before passing through their opening.
The Green Grotto has two entrances and water so vivid it looks unreal. You can swim there and use the snorkelling gear included with the tour. Marina Piccola, a beach of small smooth pebbles, comes next, and the water is clear enough to see the bottom. The tour ends at the Blue Grotto, the site where Tiberius kept his private swimming pool thousands of years ago. The water there holds a blue unlike anywhere else on the island. Onboard you have access to a shower, towels, pillows, bottled water, soda and alcoholic beverages. Music plays throughout the day.
The tour runs four hours and suits all fitness levels. Infants travel free if they sit on an adult's lap. A live guide in your choice of English, Spanish or Italian is with you the whole time.
