The experience

Your driver picks you up between 8 and 10 am and the day unfolds as a sequence of four stops, each one a different landscape. Tirta Empul Temple sits in Gianyar and draws visitors for its holy water pools. You can soak if you want to, or simply walk the temple grounds and photograph the carved stone channels where water flows. From there the route moves to Batuan, where traditional Balinese houses built from wood and grass thatch show you how the architecture has held its form for generations.
