The boat ride takes about an hour and a quarter each way, and it's the kind of crossing that makes you feel like you've actually gone somewhere, not just moved to the next beach town over.
The day splits into four stops, each one a different kind of beach. Diamond Beach comes first, around 10am: a long stretch of white sand backed by cliffs, the kind of place where the water is actually clear enough to swim in without wondering what's underneath. By noon you're at Thousand Islands Viewpoint, which is less a beach and more a cliff-edge vantage where you can see why the name stuck: the ocean breaks into a scatter of small islands and rock formations that disappear into the haze.
