The experience

The tour picks you up at your Bali hotel between 6:30 and 7 AM, then drives you to Sanur Beach where you board a shared speedboat to Nusa Penida. Your driver meets you at the port with a name board and stays with you for the rest of the day, guiding you through four distinct beaches and rock formations. The route is fixed: Broken Beach first (a large cave with a collapsed roof and rocky holes carved into the shoreline), then Angel's Billabong (a natural rock lagoon on the shore), followed by Kelingking Beach on the southwestern coast, where you stand on a hilltop looking down at white sand and sea cliffs. Lunch at a set-menu restaurant falls between Kelingking and Crystal Bay, a secluded cove on the west coast with a 200-metre stretch of sand.

The speedboat is shared with other travelers, but your transport on the island is a private air-conditioned car. Hotel pickup is available from Seminyak, Kuta, Canggu, Sanur, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa, Uluwatu, Ubud and Denpasar. The driver returns you to the same location at the end of the day.
