The experience
You start with pickup from your hotel in Seminyak or nearby areas and head to Taman Ayun Temple, a multi-tiered shrine that serves as the mother temple of the Mengwi people. From there the route moves northwest to Tanah Lot Temple, an ancient Hindu shrine built on a rocky outcrop surrounded by crashing waves: roughly 20 kilometers from Kuta and one of Bali's most photographed landmarks. The onshore complex has restaurants and shops, and you'll have time to walk the grounds and take in the ocean views before lunch at a set menu restaurant.
After eating, you stop at Padang Padang Beach, a white-sand stretch famous for its coral formations and strong waves, then continue south to Uluwatu Temple. Perched on a cliff about 70 meters above sea level, this temple is one of Bali's six spiritual pillars and offers views across the Indian Ocean. You arrive in time for the Kecak and Fire Dance performance held beside the temple: a rhythmic chant-and-fire spectacle that plays out against the sunset. The performance is included in your ticket.
The day ends with a drive to Jimbaran Beach for a seafood dinner (if you booked the all-inclusive option) where grilled fish and prawns come with views of the bay. Your driver then returns you to your hotel. The tour is private, meaning no other travelers share your vehicle or guide, and the schedule can flex based on what you want to linger on. An English-speaking driver leads throughout, handling all entrance fees, parking, and petrol.

What is Tanah Lot Temple actually like when you get there?
Tanah Lot Temple sits on a rocky outcrop surrounded by ocean and crashing waves, making it look as if it's adrift in the sea. The onshore area has smaller shrines, restaurants, shops, and a cultural park with regular dance performances, so you have space to explore and photograph the temple from different angles.
Can I do this tour if I'm not very fit?
