Capri boat tour from Positano: Small group, swim stops
Sail around Capri's rock formations and sea caves instead of joining the crowds at the Blue Grotto
A full-day boat tour from Positano to Capri for groups of up to 12 people, with minivan pickup, cruising past the Faraglioni rocks, Natural Arch and White Grotto, a swimming stop at Marina Piccola, and 3–4 hours to explore Capri's town on your own. The tour skips the Blue Grotto due to long queues, but you can visit it independently during your free time on the island.

The experience
You start in Positano with a minivan pickup that takes you to the port on the Sorrento Peninsula: about 50 minutes by road. From there, a semi-private boat carries up to 12 people around Capri's coastline. The skipper navigates past the White Grotto, a sea cave lined with white stalactites and mineral deposits, then the Natural Arch, a massive rock formation suspended above turquoise water with the entrance to an ancient Roman cave below it. The Faraglioni rock formations come next: three sea-carved outcroppings that rise from the water and anchor Capri's most recognizable view.
A swimming stop happens at Marina Piccola, a sheltered bay with clear water where you can cool off before the island time begins. Soft drinks, beer, water, and tastings of limoncello and prosecco are available on board throughout the day. You'll also pass Punta Carena, home to Italy's second-most powerful lighthouse, perched on a dramatic rocky point that few visitors see.
Once you land on Capri, you have roughly 3 to 4 hours to move at your own pace. Most people head to the town center, La Piazzetta, to walk the narrow streets lined with handmade sandal shops and waterfront restaurants. If the Blue Grotto interests you, the free time gives you the chance to visit it without the tour operator's schedule. Just plan the timing so you're back at the port for the return boat. The minivan meets you at the port for the drive back to Positano.
