The experience
The boat leaves Positano and follows the Amalfi Coast toward Capri, passing through the marine protected area of Punta Campanella where old defensive towers, hidden beaches and sea caves line the cliffs. Once you reach Capri, the tour moves past Marina Grande and offers a stop at the Blue Grotto on request: a small-boat guided entry where the sandy bottom reflects light to create the grotto's signature blue. The visit depends on weather and queue length, so the crew will assess conditions when you arrive.
From there you pass the Punta Carena lighthouse, built in 1867 and the second most powerful in Italy, then enter the Green Grotto. The emerald-green water inside is deep enough to swim in, and stalactites frame the cave walls. You stop next at Marina Piccola, Capri's most exclusive cove, where you have three hours to eat lunch at a waterfront restaurant (your cost), walk the island's inland streets, or simply rest on the boat. The crew points out the four Faraglioni rocks (Saetta, Monacone, Stella and Scopolo) as you cruise past, and you'll have time to photograph them.
On the return to Positano, the boat passes the White Grotto, a limestone cave with crystal-clear water and sunlight filtering through the rocks, then stops at Tordigliano beach for a swim in calm, clear water. You return to port with a glass of prosecco or your choice of beer, limoncello, Aperol Spritz, water or soft drinks. The boat is a traditional wooden gozzo, newly built in 2023 or 2025, 26 feet long, with a canopy for shade and a separate toilet on deck.
What’s included
- Prosecco, beer, limoncello and Aperol Spritz served from a cooler.
- bottled mineral water, Coca-Cola and lemon soda.
- dry snacks including chips, peanuts and olives.
- a canopy for shade on the aft deck.
- a separate toilet on board.
- three hours of free time in Capri at Marina Piccola to explore the island and eat lunch at a restaurant of your choice.

Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
What happens if it rains?

Can I visit the Blue Grotto on this tour from Positano?
The Blue Grotto is an optional stop on request, but entry is not guaranteed. Strong wind, high swell or queues exceeding one hour may make the visit impossible, so the crew assesses conditions when you arrive in Capri and lets you decide whether to attempt it.
What is the Green Grotto like, and can I swim in it?
The Green Grotto is a natural cave with stalactites and stalagmites, illuminated by emerald-green light reflecting off the water. Yes, you can swim inside. The water is deep and the crew includes time for a swim as part of the stop.
How much free time do I have in Capri itself?
You have three hours at Marina Piccola to eat lunch at a restaurant, explore Capri's inland villages on foot, or rest on the boat. Lunch is not included in the tour price, so you choose where and what to eat.
What drinks and snacks are included on the boat?
The boat provides prosecco, beer, limoncello and Aperol Spritz from a cooler; bottled mineral water, Coca-Cola and lemon soda; and dry snacks including several kinds of chips, peanuts and olives. A glass of prosecco is served on the return journey.
What is the Faraglioni, and will I see it up close?
The Faraglioni are four famous limestone rock formations off Capri: Saetta (attached to the island), Monacone, Stella and Scopolo. The boat pauses nearby so you can photograph them and take selfies with this iconic backdrop.
How many people can join this tour?
The boat holds a maximum of seven passengers, so your group travels privately with no other bookings on the same departure.
