The Experience

The boat leaves Positano in the morning and the coastline opens up immediately — the village's pastel houses stacked against dramatic cliffs are the first thing you see from the water, and they look nothing like the postcard version. From there, the route follows the edge of the coast toward Praiano, where whitewashed homes and the majolica dome of San Gennaro Church sit high above the water. The captain stops at Cala della Gavitella, a sheltered beach with turquoise water and views toward Capri, for the first swim and snorkel. You'll float in clear water or explore what's underwater; the boat waits.

The second half of the day moves deeper into the coast's hidden corners. Fiordo di Furore is a narrow gorge where steep cliffs meet a small secret beach and a stone arch bridge hangs 30 meters overhead — the kind of place that looks too dramatic to be real until you're floating beneath it. The boat passes Conca dei Marini and the Natural Arch (the Lovers' Arch, according to local legend), then reaches Amalfi, where you can walk into the town, visit the cathedral, or sit by the water with a gelato. The Emerald Grotto, a sea cave with water lit green by sunlight filtering through an underwater opening, is visible on the route but entry requires a separate ticket. The boat returns to Positano by late afternoon.

Refreshments and snacks are served on board throughout the day, along with prosecco, beer and limoncello. The captain speaks English, Spanish, Italian and German.
