The experience

The boat departs from Marina Grande, Capri's main port on the northwest coast, and spends the morning moving along the island's coastline. You'll anchor at several spots for snorkeling: the turquoise waters near Bagni di Tiberio, where Roman emperors once bathed; the Red Grotto with its mineral-tinted walls; and the Green Grotto, lit by an emerald glow from its cave entrance. Floats and snorkeling equipment are provided, and the skipper and steward stay on board to assist. A break at Punta Ventroso includes an aperitif with mixed snacks, prosecco, limoncello, and a chance to swim or wade to shore if you want to explore the pebbled beach up close.

The tour passes the Faraglioni, three rock formations off the southern coast. The middle one has a natural arch boats can pass through, and local tradition says making a wish there brings good luck. You'll see the White Grotto's white limestone walls and stalactites, and approach the Blue Grotto (entry to the cave itself is independent during your free time on the island). Marina Piccola, a sheltered bay at the foot of the Faraglioni, offers another swimming stop with views of the cliffs and Tiberius's former refuge. The lighthouse at Punta Carena and Villa Malaparte's red-facade architecture frame the route, each with their own history tied to the island.

After the boat portion, you have roughly 4 hours to explore Capri on foot: the town's shops, restaurants, and cafes are within walking distance of Marina Grande. The total time on the water and ashore is 8 hours, and the group stays under 12 people. A live guide narrates the route and stories about the sites. Bad weather may require rescheduling, and the itinerary can shift if safety or conditions demand it.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Italian.

Can I enter the Blue Grotto on this tour?

The Blue Grotto is accessible independently during your 4 hours of free time on the island. The boat tour approaches it but does not include entry to the cave itself. You can arrange entry separately once you land at Marina Grande.

What is the Faraglioni and why do people pass under it?

The Faraglioni are three rock formations rising from the sea off Capri's southern coast. The middle one, Faraglione di Mezzo, has a natural arch that boats pass through, and local tradition holds that making a wish while passing under it brings good luck.

How much time do I get to explore Capri itself?

You have about 4 hours of free time on the island after the boat portion ends, enough to walk through the town, visit shops and restaurants, or rest at a cafe before heading back to the port.

What snorkeling spots are included?

The tour anchors for snorkeling at Bagni di Tiberio, the Red Grotto, the Green Grotto, and other coves along the coast. Floats and full snorkeling equipment are provided on board, and the steward is there to help.

Is food and drink included?

Yes. An aperitif with mixed snacks, brunch with savory selections, water, soft drinks, beer, prosecco, limoncello, and spirits are all included. A break at Punta Ventroso is where the main aperitif and toast happen.
