The experience

The first day moves through Bali's artisan villages (Tohpati for batik, Celuk for gold and silver work, and Batuan near its temple where painters sell their work) before heading to Tirta Empul Temple. The temple sits in Manukaya village around a sacred spring where Balinese come to bathe for healing and spiritual cleansing. From there the route climbs to a coffee plantation in Temen, where you learn the process and sample varieties, including luwak coffee made from beans collected from wild civets. The day ends at Mount Batur, the volcano also called Kintamani, where you stand at the caldera viewpoint, then descends to Tegalalang Rice Terrace near Ubud to see the traditional subak irrigation system before returning to your hotel.

Day two starts with a 30-minute drive to Taman Ayun Temple, the royal family temple of the Mengwi Kingdom built in the 1600s and surrounded by a moat. The route then heads north to Banyumala Waterfall, a twin waterfall with a natural swimming pool reached by a 10–15 minute walk through green forest. Morning visits mean fewer crowds. The tour closes at Ulun Danu Beratan, a water temple on Lake Beratan in Bedugul surrounded by mountains, known for photography and its cool highland setting. Your driver-guide brings you back to your hotel at the end of the second day.

Transport is private throughout: an air-conditioned minivan seats your group alone. The guide speaks English and Malay. A minimum of two people per booking is required. Entrance tickets can be added at checkout or purchased separately. Food and drinks are not included.
