- Visit Ubud art galleries

The Experience
The day opens with the Barong Dance at Batubulan, a traditional performance that plays out the eternal struggle between good and evil through elaborate masks and movement. From there the route takes you through Celuk Village, where artisans chip intricate designs into silver by hand, then inland through terraced rice fields that climb toward the mountains. The landscape shifts as you rise—small vegetable plots and rice give way to bamboo forest, clove and citrus trees.
At Kintamani you reach the centerpiece: Mount Batur, an active volcano with ribbons of black lava running down its peak, and beside it the shimmering lake of Batur. A restaurant with views over both sits here if you want lunch (at your own cost). On the return, you stop at Tirta Empul Temple, a holy spring where the waters are believed to have curative powers and locals come to purify themselves in the clear bathing pools.
Before heading back to your hotel, you walk the grounds of Elephant Cave (Goa Gajah), an 11th-century temple carved into rock with a dramatic entrance depicting entangled leaves, ocean waves, animals and the shapes of local spirits. In Ubud, the artistic heart of Bali, there is time to visit one of the many art galleries and watch artists at work. The whole day runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off.

Is this one for you?Eight hours is long enough to move from the coast into the mountains and back without rushing the stops, but it means lunch is a quick meal at Kintamani rather than a leisurely one. If you want a full day that covers culture, handicrafts, nature and temples without building the itinerary yourself, the fixed schedule holds it all together.
