The experience
You start with a van pickup from your Khao Lak hotel and transfer to a private pier in Phuket, where a speedboat takes over for the run into Phang Nga Bay. The boat hits Panak Island first: a maze of limestone cliffs, sea caves and hidden lagoons you explore by canoe, paddling under rock arches and into spaces the speedboat cannot reach. From there it's on to James Bond Island, the dramatic limestone tower that rose from the bay in The Man with the Golden Gun. The stop is built around photos and the view rather than a long landing.
Lunch happens at Panyi, a traditional Muslim fishing village built entirely on wooden stilts and walkways over the water. You eat a Thai buffet on the island itself, moving through the village between courses and picking up a sense of how the community actually works, not a staged stop but a real place where people live and fish. After lunch, the canoe work continues at Hong Island, where you paddle through narrow passages under limestone arches into lagoons ringed by mangroves. The water is calm and the passage feels like moving through a tunnel of rock and green. The day ends at Khai Island, where the water turns shallow and clear enough for snorkeling on the reef, or you can swim and rest on the sand. Banana boat rides and jet skiing are available for extra cost if you want them.
The tour runs 9 to 10 hours door to door. Your guide speaks English and Thai throughout. Snorkeling gear, life jacket, drinking water, seasonal fruit and soft drinks are all included. The boat carries accident insurance as standard. The pace is built around travel time between islands and the canoe sections, so you are not rushed through any single stop but you do move through five of them in a single day.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Thai.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years). Under 4: they can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is James Bond Island actually like when you get there?
James Bond Island is a single dramatic limestone tower rising from emerald water, famous from the 1974 film The Man with the Golden Gun. The stop centers on photography and viewing the formation from the boat and the beach. It is not a long landing or a hiking destination, but the scale and isolation of the rock make it worth the trip.
Can you swim and snorkel at Khai Island, or is it just a beach stop?
Khai Island has both. The water is shallow and clear with a reef close to shore, so snorkeling is straightforward if you want it. If you prefer to swim or rest on the sand without gear, that works too. The stop is long enough for either choice.
What does the canoe part of the tour involve?
You paddle by canoe through sea caves and mangrove tunnels at two islands, Panak and Hong. The passages are narrow and the water is calm. No paddling experience is needed. A guide leads the canoe work and points out rock formations and the mangrove ecosystem as you move through.
Is lunch included, and what kind of food is it?
Thai buffet lunch is included at Panyi Island, a floating fishing village. The meal features authentic Thai flavors and is served on the island itself. You eat among the wooden walkways and buildings of the village.
How much time do you spend traveling by speedboat versus at the islands?
The 9 to 10 hour total includes travel time between Khao Lak, the pier in Phuket, and the five islands. Most of the day is split between the islands themselves and the canoe sections. The speedboat moves you between stops but is not the main event.
What happens if the weather is bad or the tour needs to be cancelled?
If cancellation is necessary, the operator will inform you in advance and offer either a different tour date, an alternative tour, or a full refund.
