Wahiba Sands Desert Camp: Camel Ride & Bedouin Tent
You sleep on top of the dunes and wake to the same view the Bedouins do.
A 2-day private desert tour in Oman's Wahiba Sands where you travel by camel to a traditional Bedouin tent pitched on the dunes, spend the night with a local guide, prepare and share a traditional dinner, and return the next day after breakfast and time with the camp animals. The guide speaks English and the experience is built around living as the Bedouins do, not watching from the outside.

The experience
The tour starts at the Bediyah Safari Tours office, where you meet your camel guide and receive Omani coffee and dates before heading out. A two-hour camel ride takes you across Wahiba Sands to your private tent, which sits on top of the dunes with views of both sunset and sunrise. The tent mixes traditional Bedouin design with modern comfort: it has beds, a toilet and shower, so you're not roughing it entirely. By 7:15 p.m. the guide serves a traditional dinner, and afterward you gather around the campfire with tea before settling in for the night.
The second morning brings breakfast at the camp, then a 4x4 transfer to spend time feeding the sheep, goats and camels before the tour ends. This part of the day is shared with other guests who are on the same experience, so you're not entirely alone, but your tent and your first day with the guide are private. The whole arc is built around what Bedouins actually do: travel the dunes, cook over fire, sleep under open sky, tend animals at dawn.
