Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Day Trip from Delhi with 5* LunchLet Agra surprise you on a private Taj Mahal & Agra Fort tour from Delhi, with seamless pickup, skip-the-line entry, and a relaxed 5-star lunch included.★ 4.96 (822)12hUS$ 36View › The Shatabdi Express pulls out of New Delhi at 6:00 AM, and you're already settled into an air-conditioned coach with tea and a light breakfast waiting. Two hours later you step onto the platform at Agra Cantt, and your guide is there with a placard. No negotiation, no confusion — just a car and a plan. By 8:30 AM you're standing in front of the Taj Mahal, the white marble still holding the early light, and you've been awake for less than three hours.
The day moves in blocks. After the Taj Mahal — you get 1.5 to 2 hours there, which is enough to walk the grounds, sit with it, take the photos that matter — you head to Agra Fort at 11:00 AM. The fort is massive, layered with palaces and courtyards and the weight of Mughal history. Lunch comes at a local restaurant around 12:30 PM, somewhere like Bon Barbecue or Taj Terrace, and then at 1:30 PM you're in a car heading 40 km south to Fatehpur Sikri. This is the part that catches people off guard. The ancient township — built by Emperor Akbar, abandoned after just 14 years — sits there almost untouched, with the Jama Masjid and the palace complexes dedicated to his wives and his minister Birbal. It's quieter than Agra, less crowded, and the scale of it sinks in slowly as you walk through the gateways.
You have time to wander the local markets if you want — the handicraft and marble stalls are colorful and real, not a tourist trap — and then at 7:30 PM your guide transfers you back to Agra Cantt station. The return Shatabdi leaves at 19:30, dinner is served on board, and you're back at your New Delhi hotel late in the evening. It's a full day, but it's structured. The train does the heavy lifting — you don't drive five hours in a car, you sleep or read or watch the landscape change. Your hotel pickup is included, so you don't have to find the railway station on your own.
You'll need a valid ID — bring your passport — and the e-ticket arrives by email after you book. Mineral water is provided on the train, and the whole thing is wheelchair accessible if that matters to you. Groups stay small enough that the guide can actually talk to you, not just point and move on.
