The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Delhi hotel or airport between 6:30 and 7 AM, then a drive to Nizammuddin Railway Station. You board the Gatimaan Express at 8 AM and arrive in Agra at 9:50 AM, where your guide meets you at the platform. From there, you spend around three hours at the Taj Mahal with your guide explaining its history and the story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. The skip-the-line tickets mean you walk past the queue at the entrance.

After the Taj Mahal, you visit Agra Fort, a red-stone structure built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century with palaces, courtyards and views back toward the Taj Mahal. Plan for about an hour there. Lunch follows at a five-star hotel in Agra with an unlimited buffet.
