The experience

How do you get from Delhi to the Taj Mahal and back in a single day without renting a car or navigating the train station alone? This tour handles it: you're picked up from your hotel in Delhi, Gurgaon or Noida at 6:30am and driven to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station to board the Gatimaan Express, India's fastest train to Agra. Breakfast is served onboard. The train does the heavy travel while you sit in an air-conditioned coach. When you arrive in Agra, your guide and driver are waiting with a name sign.

From the station, you go straight to the Taj Mahal with skip-the-line tickets already in hand: no queue at the gate, no time wasted. The guide walks you through the 17th-century marble tomb built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. After that, lunch is at a 5-star hotel with Mughlai and international dishes. The afternoon takes you to Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former residence of the Mughal emperors, then to the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah, often called the "Baby Taj", a marble monument built by Empress Nur Jahan for her father. A private AC car moves you between each stop.

By late afternoon you're back at Agra Cantonment Railway Station to board the return train to Delhi. You arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin in the evening, where a representative meets you for the final transfer to your hotel or airport. The pickup is at 6:30am from your hotel, so you need to be checked in before that time. If your flight lands early enough to reach your hotel and be ready, yes: otherwise, book a separate transfer from the airport and arrange a later departure date for the tour.

What happens if the train is fully booked when I want to go?

During peak season, if Gatimaan Express train tickets are unavailable, the entire tour is conducted by private car instead, at the same price. You still get the same guide, the same stops, skip-the-line entry and the same meals.

Is the Taj Mahal open every day?

The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday, so this tour cannot operate on Fridays. Plan your Delhi trip for any other day of the week.
