The early start means you arrive at the Taj Mahal as light breaks, when the marble shifts from grey to gold and the site is still quiet. Your guide meets you there and helps position you for photographs at the best vantage points inside the monument grounds.

After the Taj Mahal, you move to Agra Fort, built in 1565 by Mughal Emperor Akbar. The fort's red sandstone walls and intricate inlay work show the architectural power of the empire at its height. If your package includes a meal, lunch follows at a restaurant or five-star hotel in Agra, with both Mughlai and international options. Vegetarian and dietary choices are available. The guide then takes you to the Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb, the first Mughal structure built entirely from marble and the first to use pietra dura inlay work extensively. It sits on the banks of the Yamuna River, a site that had been pleasure gardens before this tomb rose there.
