The Experience

The tour starts with a pickup from your Alexandria hotel and a two-hour transfer to Giza. Day one focuses on the pyramid complex: you'll see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the pyramid of Chephren, and the pyramid of Mykerinus, then move to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. After lunch at a local restaurant, the itinerary continues to the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara: the world's oldest major stone structure, built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. The day ends with a visit to Memphis, Egypt's first capital, where you'll see the Statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day two picks up from your hotel for a full exploration of Cairo. The Egyptian Museum is the main stop, housing over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of Pharaonic art. From there you move to the Mosque of Muhammad Ali inside the Citadel of Salah El Din, then to Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara and Church of Abu Serga. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. The tour concludes with time to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo's historic bazaar known for brassware, copper, perfumes, leather and antiques, before you're transferred back to Alexandria.
