Cozumel Scuba Diving at Chankanaab: Intro Dive, No Experience
One tank underwater, ancient caves and the reef barrier without any diving background.
An introductory scuba dive at Chankanaab Adventure Beach Park in Cozumel with a certified bilingual instructor, one air tank, park admission and beach access included. The dive lasts around two hours and requires no prior experience. You receive instruction on equipment use before descending to watch marine life around the reef barrier and explore underwater caves and sculptures.
The Experience
You arrive at Chankanaab park and meet your certified instructor, who walks you through the scuba equipment and how to use it before you enter the water. The instruction happens on-site, so there's no separate classroom or prep session elsewhere. Once you're comfortable with the gear, you descend into the water with your instructor and one air tank to explore the underwater world around you.
The dive takes you through ancient caves and past the underwater sculptures Chankanaab is known for, and you watch the marine life of the second largest reef barrier in the world as you move through it. Your instructor stays with you the whole time, pointing out what's around you and making sure you're managing the equipment. The whole experience runs about two hours from start to finish.
After you surface and finish the dive, the park is yours to use. You can relax on the white-sand beach with a locker for your belongings, use the loungers and umbrellas, and access the rest of Chankanaab's amenities. Park admission, beach access, one air tank, the locker and the instructor are all included; the marine park fee is a separate charge at checkout if your option includes it.
