The Experience
The catamaran leaves from The Money Bar Beach Club, where you'll spend time before and after snorkeling. On the way out, you sail along Cozumel's coastline toward Palancar Reef—part of the second-largest coral barrier in the world. The water is shallow and turquoise, built for snorkeling: you'll see the Caribbean sea life without fighting current or depth. A guide leads the reef stop and stays in the water with the group.
After Palancar, the boat heads to El Cielo, a natural bay with a sandy bottom so clear it looks like a swimming pool. This is where starfish gather, and the water barely reaches chest height. You get leisure time here to float, wade or sit on the sand. The crew brings refreshments, seasonal fruit, fresh fish ceviche and corn chips to the beach.
Back at The Money Bar, you have the rest of the afternoon. The beach club includes lounge chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and bathrooms. Food and drinks there cost extra—the ceviche and fruit at El Cielo are included, but the Mexican food, seafood and bar at the club are on your own tab. Music plays, the water is calm enough for a swim, and you can stay as long as you want before heading back to your hotel.
