Mud, Reef & Tequila: A Cozumel Day That Doesn't Stop

You ride an ATV through jungle mud and reach a natural sinkhole where you can cliff jump or swim, then snorkel a reef right from the beach, eat lunch with an open bar for two hours, and taste tequila before heading back. The day is self-contained—transport, gear, food and drinks all included—so you show up and go.

4h 30m

Step-by-step itinerary

ATV, snorkeling, lunch, and open bar

  • Transfer to ATV starting point
  • 90-minute jungle ATV ride
  • Swim or cliff jump at Jade Cavern
  • 30-minute guided snorkeling at Dzul Ha Reef
  • Enjoy Mexican lunch and open bar
  • Use kayaks and paddle boards
  • Participate in tequila tasting

The Experience

The ATV is already running when you arrive at the starting point—your guide checks your helmet, you swing a leg over, and then you're plunging into jungle so thick you can't see the sky. Ninety minutes of this: mud splashing up the sides, roots and rocks underneath, the engine loud enough that you stop thinking about anything except the next turn. The trail opens up at the Jade Cavern, a sinkhole so clear and sudden it stops you cold. You can jump from the edge into water so blue it doesn't look real, or just wade in and float there for a minute, catching your breath.

After the ATV ride and a transfer back to The Money Bar—an oceanfront spot on Dzul Ha Reef—you're straight into a guided snorkel from the shore. The reef is right there, thirty meters out, and the water is so transparent you see everything: parrotfish, sergeant majors, the whole reef structure. Your guide points things out, but mostly you're just swimming and looking. Then you climb out, rinse off, and sit down to two hours of open bar and lunch: tacos, fajitas, a cheeseburger if that's what you want. The bar is domestic—beer, rum, the usual—but it's cold and you're hungry and the ocean is still right there.

Before you leave, there's a tequila tasting. Someone explains how it's made, which agave, why Cozumel matters to the story, and then you taste it. It's the kind of detail that sounds small until you're actually doing it, sitting at a beach bar with a glass in your hand and the reef behind you. The whole day runs about five hours, but it's packed tight—no waiting around, no filler. Small groups mean you're not herded, and the pace moves without rushing you.

What’s included

Your day includes round-trip ATV transfers, a 90-minute guided ATV ride through the jungle with helmet and goggles, access to the Jade Cavern with cliff-jump option, a 30-minute guided snorkel tour at Dzul Ha Reef with full gear (mask, fins, vest, tube), two hours of domestic open bar, a Mexican lunch (one entrée per person), beach lounge chairs and umbrellas at The Money Bar, use of clear kayaks and paddle boards, a tequila tasting with history and process education, and secure lockers for your belongings during both the ATV ride and your time at the beach.
