Snorkeling in Cozumel: Private ATV tour with cenote and tequila
Ride through jungle to a cenote, then taste eight kinds of tequila.
A private ATV tour in Cozumel where you ride your own all-terrain vehicle to cenote Jade for snorkeling, visit El Cedral village, and end with a tequila seminar tasting eight varieties. The guide is a native Cozumel resident who speaks English, pickup is included from hotels and cruise piers, and the tour runs three hours. El Cedral entrance costs $20 per person, paid on arrival.
Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Cozumel and visit cenote
- Relax with tequila tasting seminar
- Visit El Cedral town and church
- Enter jungle and reach Cenote Jade
The Experience
El Cedral is the first stop—a town with the first church built in Cozumel and a sculpture that marks the island's history. From there you ride into jungle on your own ATV, not in a caravan where you're surrounded by other riders. The guide leads you to cenote Jade, the third most important natural cenote in Mexico, where you enter the water to snorkel. Bottled water is provided throughout.
After the cenote, the tour shifts to tequila. You sit down for a seminar where you taste eight different varieties—Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, cream tequilas, dessert tequilas and more—and learn how each type is distilled and aged. The guide explains the history of tequila-making and the difference between the varieties, so you understand what you're tasting instead of just drinking. The whole experience runs three hours from start to finish.
Pickup is included from any hotel or cruise pier in Cozumel. The guide is a native of the island who grew up in the culture and speaks fluent English. Helmets and goggles are provided, and the ATV itself is your vehicle for the day—no sharing, no waiting for a group to catch up.
