Ride jungle paths and village streets, then cool off in a cenote

An ATV tour in Cozumel that starts with a ride through El Cedral's rural roads and colorful streets, passes small archaeological remains, and ends with a swim in Cenote Jade. The experience includes fuel, bottled water, a live guide in English or Spanish, and return transportation from your meeting point. Entrance taxes for El Cedral and the cenote are 20 USD per person and paid separately at check-in.

3h

Step-by-step itinerary

ATV adventure and cenote swim

  • Check in at Cozumel meeting point
  • Travel to El Cedral village
  • Prepare with safety equipment
  • Ride ATVs through El Cedral
  • Stop and swim at Jade Cenote
  • Return ATV ride to base
  • Transport back to Cozumel meeting point

The Experience

You'll meet at a central point in Cozumel, check in with the team, and board included transportation to El Cedral, a quiet traditional village away from the coastal resorts. Once there, you'll suit up with safety gear, get your ATV organized, and head out on the jungle circuit — rural paths and village streets that show a side of Cozumel most visitors miss. The route passes through El Cedral's calm local atmosphere and small archaeological remains that mark where people lived hundreds of years ago.

After riding through the village, you continue by ATV toward Cenote Jade, a natural pool surrounded by local vegetation. Here you stop to swim in the cenote waters, take photos from the dock, or jump in from the high point if you want something more active. The water cools you off before you ride back through El Cedral and return to the ATV base, then board transportation back to your starting point. The whole experience runs three hours.

You can book a shared ATV (two riders per vehicle, so your group size must be even) or a single ATV for yourself. If you book shared and have an odd number in your party, the difference gets charged as a single ATV at check-in. Bottled water is included; the entrance taxes for El Cedral and Cenote Jade are paid separately at the meeting point.

What’s included

  • ATV fuel and a jungle circuit ride through El Cedral.
  • visit to El Cedral's town and small archaeological remains.

Is this one for you?Choose the shared ATV if you're riding with a partner and want to split the cost; book a single ATV if you prefer to ride alone or your group has an odd number of people. Either way, the three-hour route keeps the pace steady enough for all fitness levels while still delivering the village scenery and cenote swim that make Cozumel's interior worth seeing.

Top questions

What's the difference between the shared ATV and single ATV options?

The shared ATV option pairs two riders per vehicle and requires your group size to be even; if you book shared with an odd number of people, the extra rider is charged as a single ATV at check-in. A single ATV is yours alone to ride.

Can I swim in Cenote Jade, or is it just a photo stop?

Swimming is allowed at Cenote Jade. You can wade in from the dock, jump from the high point, or stay dry and take photos — it's your choice during the stop.

What's included in the three-hour tour?

The tour includes ATV fuel, bottled water, a live guide in English or Spanish, transportation to and from El Cedral, access to the village and its archaeological remains, and entry to Cenote Jade. Entrance taxes (20 USD per person) are paid separately at check-in.

Do I need experience riding an ATV to book this?

No. The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels, and the guide will organize your ATV and go over safety equipment before you ride. You must be at least 18 years old.

How far is El Cedral from the meeting point in Cozumel?

El Cedral is on the quieter, rural side of Cozumel, away from the busy beaches. Included transportation takes you there from your meeting point before the ATV riding begins.

What should I bring or wear?

Wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty and closed-toe shoes suitable for riding. Bring sunscreen and a change of clothes or a towel for after your cenote swim. Safety equipment is provided.
