The Experience

After pickup from your hotel or meeting point, you and your group ride in a private jeep, buggy or minivan—your choice depending on party size—while the guide drives you around the island on the coastal highway where all the stops sit. Because there's no time limit and no rush, you decide how long to linger at each place. The tequila distillery is optional and free; skip it if you prefer, or spend an hour learning about the spirit and tasting. The same goes for the Welcome to Miami beach bar with its signature green mojitos—it's there if you want it, not if you don't.

The fixed stops anchor the day: El Mirador, the highest natural peak on Cozumel, where you climb ancient limestone formations millions of years old and shoot photos of the east coast; Chen Rio beach, where crocodiles live in a lagoon nearby (not on the sand); San Martin, one of the only accessible sandy beaches on the island; and a cenote called Aerolito, where the guide explains how cenotes formed and their place in Mayan culture—you can swim there if you want. Downtown Cozumel and a replica Mayan temple are optional stops if time allows.

Lunch happens at a beach restaurant where you choose fajitas, tacos or quesadillas, and snorkeling starts right there in the same spot.
