The experience
Cozumel's snorkeling starts at Monina Restaurant, where you'll get a safety briefing on the sea scooter gear before heading into the Caribbean. The scooters do the work. You steer and navigate while they propel you through the water, letting you cover more reef and stay longer underwater without tiring. As you move through the blue water, schools of tropical fish surround you, and you'll spot soft coral, stingrays, moray eels, and possibly manta rays and sea turtles depending on the day.
Once you're back on shore and the gear is cleaned, the tequila tasting begins. A Mayan dance performance opens the experience, then you'll taste several homemade tequila varieties and learn how they're made and their history in Mexico. The tasting includes homemade chocolate and three types of salsas (mango, tamarind, and others) before the air-conditioned vehicle returns you to Monina Restaurant.
