The experience

You meet your guide at Molo 0 in Marina Grande and board a minibus for the ride to the Blue Grotto. The emerald light inside the cave comes from sun rays reflecting off the water: the reason it's Capri's most famous sight. If the sea is too rough for entry, the boat tour circles the island to show you other natural caves instead. Either way, you're on the water seeing the island from the side most visitors miss.

From there, the minibus climbs to Anacapri, where narrow streets and historic squares fill the upper part of the island. A chairlift takes you to Monte Solaro's summit for the panorama the description promises: the highest point on Capri, looking out over the whole island and the water beyond. You have time to walk around and take in the view before heading back down.

After lunch (on your own), you spend free time in La Piazzetta, Capri's main square, surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars where locals drink espresso. The tour ends when you return to Marina Grande, the port where you started. The whole day runs six hours from start to finish.
