The experience

The day begins at Marina Grande, Capri's main port, where you meet your guide and the small group. From there, the route depends on the sea: if conditions allow, you board a rowboat into the Blue Grotto, the natural cave lit by the water's refracted blue light. If the grotto is closed, the group takes a boat instead around the island's perimeter, passing the Faraglioni rock formations and natural caves carved into the cliffs. Either way, the boat portion is included.

Next comes Anacapri, the quieter hilltop town on the island's slopes. You have free time to walk the narrow streets lined with pastel buildings and artisan shops, or simply stand at a scenic overlook and take in the Bay of Naples. If you want to go higher, Mount Solaro sits above the town. A chairlift carries you to the summit for views across the island and the mainland beyond. That ticket costs extra and is your choice to add.

After lunch (on your own), the tour moves to the Piazzetta di Capri, the bustling heart of the island, ringed with cafes and boutiques. From there you walk through the Augustus Gardens, a clifftop park with flowerbeds, statues, and views down to the Faraglioni rocks and the coastline. The day ends back at Marina Grande.
