The experience

You catch the ferry from Amalfi port in the morning, collect your boarding pass, and meet an English-speaking guide when you arrive at Marina Grande. From there, a private convertible car or minibus handles the island driving, so you step out at each stop without navigating the narrow roads yourself. The guide stays with you the whole day, explaining what you're seeing and handling the logistics.

The Blue Grotto comes first: weather and queue permitting, you board a small boat and enter the cave itself to see the water lit electric blue by light bouncing off the seafloor. If the grotto is closed or the line is too long, the operator arranges a sharing boat trip around the island's other sea caves instead. After that, you head to Anacapri for lunch on your own (not included), then take the chairlift up Mount Solaro, the island's highest point, for views across the bay toward Salerno. You choose between the chairlift or Villa San Michele when you book.

The afternoon brings you down to the Piazzetta, Capri's famous central square where the shopping streets converge, then to the Gardens of Augustus: terraced gardens with flowerbeds overlooking the Faraglioni rock formations and the hairpin switchbacks of the Via Krupp carved into the cliff below. The tour ends back at Marina Grande, where you catch the ferry home to Amalfi.
